The battle continues
To day is July 20 and I have been officially on this path for 8 months. It has not been very smooth at all. However, I now weigh 306 pounds so I have effectively eliminated 20 pounds from my start weight. I have given up on the notion of running the Rochester Marathon in September. I still need to lose 20 more pounds before I would feel comfortable pounding the pavement. I have taken to riding a bicycle and alternating with the eliptical machine at the gym. A race is in my future, I just do not know when it will be and what length I will attempt. Right now a 5K looks pretty appealing. We will see how that develops once I lose the next 20 pounds. The smoking habit is still giving me a struggle. I am now on day 3. WooHoo!! I am just keeping my focus on the prize (smoke free and 250 pounds), no matter how long it takes me to get there.
