Bang!) in the classroom too.

SUNDAY AUGUST 17th AGENDA

7:30 - 8:30 AM Breakfast and registration, wandering around the school. Breakfast is provided.
8:30 - 9:45 AM Good Morning! After a quick re-grouping (any leftover questions?) we will start the day by Meeting the Masters (Montessosri, Vygotsky and Piaget OH MY!) and discussing how what they did influences what we do!
9:45 - 12:00 PM We will continue our exploration of the seven things and pick up with the importance of "Discussing" problem solving, communication and social skills. Yes, academics are important, but what good is my knowledge if I don't know how to get my shovel back?

Then we'll move on to the importance of "Observing." Piggy-backing on the importance of observing and using our senses, Lisa will provide you with the information from her "Taming the Media Monster" workshop, designed to give you the info you need to defend a "no computers" stance in your program.

In addition, how do we use our own powers of observation to meet the needs of the children? How does multiple intelligences theory relate to the importance of meeting these individual needs? NOTE: There will be a break in the morning!!!
12:00 - 1:30 PM Lunch, shopping, Make and Take #4 SHARPIE MARKER TYE DYE. Q/A with Lisa will overlap with finishing lunch.
1:30 - 2:30 PM Focusing on "Reading" will lead into the presentation of Lisa's circle time/literacy workshop: how to read a book well, rethinking our ideas about circle time, stories by children, current literacy issues, comic books ... are they really so bad? How to start the "story board" in your room and more.
2:30 - 3:00 PM Stretch and cookie break
3:00 - 4:15 PM This will lead into an overview of the House of Higher Learning and how what we have spent the weekend talking about supports it. How do we articulate it? What do we say when the WOLVES come knocking???

We will bring it on home and wrap up the weekend with a focusing on "Playing" with Lisa's signature OOEY GOOEY® workshop. This is how we play the ooey gooey® way!!!
4:00 - 4:15 PM Saying goodbye, final questions or comments, time to fill out the individual postcards to be mailed in a few months to remind you of what you are taking back.

MONDAY AUGUST 18th AGENDA

9:00 - 11:00 AM Coffee/light breakfast. Observations, processing and playing with the kids at the school.
